Refund Policy for Legacy Online School

 

At Legacy Online School, our priority is ensuring the satisfaction and educational success of our students. We understand that circumstances can change, and flexibility is necessary. We’ve formulated the following refund policy that is fair to both our students and our institution.

1. Enrollment Fee — Non-Refundable

The Enrollment Fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, regardless of the reason for withdrawal or cancellation. This applies to all clients regardless of country of residence. This clause is disclosed prior to contract conclusion in accordance with applicable consumer protection requirements in the UAE (Cabinet Resolution No. 66/2023), Qatar (Consumer Protection Law No. 8/2008), and EU Member States.

 

2. Full Refund — 14-Day Window

For students (or their parents/guardians) who choose to withdraw from the school within the first fourteen (14) calendar days following enrollment, a full refund of tuition fees will be given for the first installment paid. The 14-day window begins on the date of enrolment payment. A full refund under this clause is available only if no more than one (1) live lesson has been attended. The Enrollment Fee remains non-refundable.

Legal basis for UAE clients: Federal Law No. 15/2020 on Consumer Protection as amended by Federal Decree-Law No. 5/2023, Art. 34, Cabinet Resolution No. 66/2023. Legal basis for Qatar clients: Qatar Consumer Protection Law No. 8/2008, Art. 11. 

 

3. EU Right of Withdrawal — 14 Days (Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal)

Clients residing in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, or Portugal have the right to withdraw from this agreement within 14 calendar days of the date of contract conclusion, without giving any reason. This right is referred to as:

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the client must notify Legacy Online School in writing (email to [email protected]) before the 14-day period expires. Legacy Online School will reimburse all payments received within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal notification, using the same payment method as the original transaction.

If the client has explicitly requested that services begin during the withdrawal period and services have been partially delivered, Legacy Online School is entitled to charge a proportionate amount for services rendered up to the point of withdrawal.

Important: If Legacy Online School fails to inform the client of the right of withdrawal before contract conclusion, the withdrawal period extends to 12 months. Legal basis: EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.

For Germany: the withdrawal notification must be in Textform (written form, including email). The Muster-Widerrufsbelehrung (model withdrawal form) provided to German clients at enrolment satisfies the mandatory notification requirement under BGB §312d and EGBGB Art. 246a §1.

 

4. Eligibility for Refunds

Refunds are available for students (or their parents/guardians) who have opted for the One-time Payment option or who have chosen to pay in two or more installments. In the case of payment in two or more installments, only the first installment is eligible for a refund as per the conditions outlined in this policy.

Clients who enrolled under a promotional discount (promo code) are subject to the same refund conditions. The refund amount will be calculated based on the amount actually paid, not the undiscounted price.

 

5. Refund for Failure to Deliver Services (All Markets)

A pro-rated refund for unused service is available at any time if Legacy Online School materially fails to deliver the contracted services. This includes but is not limited to:

6. Changes to Terms and Pricing — 30 Days’ Notice (All Markets)

Legacy Online School reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. For enrolled clients, any material change to pricing or refund terms will be communicated with not less than 20 calendar days’ written notice by email. Clients who do not accept the amended terms may terminate enrolment within the notice period and receive a pro-rated refund for unused services.

7. Process for Cancellation and Refund Requests

To initiate a refund request, students (or their parents/guardians) must submit a written request by email to [email protected] with the subject line ‘Request for Cancellation’. Please include your invoice number and student name.

Upon approval of the refund, please allow up to 14 business days for the refund to be processed. Refunds will be made using the same payment method as the original transaction, unless otherwise mutually agreed in writing.

For EU clients exercising the right of withdrawal: Legacy Online School will process the refund within 14 calendar days of receiving the withdrawal notification, in accordance with applicable EU law.

 

8. Denial of Refund

Legacy Online School reserves the right to deny refund requests that do not meet the eligibility criteria outlined in this policy. Reasons for denial may include: requests made after the applicable refund window; issues resulting from the Customer’s non-compliance with this Agreement. Any denial will be communicated in writing with reasons.

Nothing in this Section 8 limits any rights available to consumers under applicable mandatory law in their country of residence, including UAE Federal Law No. 15/2020, Qatar Consumer Protection Law No. 8/2008, or EU consumer protection directives.
