Safe Learning, No Matter What

With ongoing regional instability, many families are paying full tuition for physical schools — only to receive a remote experience. Legacy delivers a purpose-built online education from the safety of home, with no disruptions and no compromises.

Save Up to 70% on Tuition

Sharjah international schools cost AED 30,000–130,000+/year. Legacy starts from $670/semester — world-class education at a fraction of the price.

Sharjah families have strong international school options. What they have in common: a physical campus, a fixed schedule, and tuition fees that reflect the infrastructure costs of running a building.

Legacy Online School is different. A WASC accredited online private school – live teachers every school day, US curriculum delivered through a digital platform, no campus, and no KHDA license required for expat families enrolling independently.

Online Education in Sharjah and the UAE

Expat population in the UAE is close to 88.5% of total residents. Families relocate here from every continent, and many bring children mid-academic year, mid-curriculum, with educational histories that don’t map neatly onto local school options.

Homeschooling is legal for non-Emirati expat families in the UAE. Registration with KHDA or the Ministry of Education is not required for expat families choosing an accredited international online school independently. Legacy is not KHDA-licensed – families enroll directly as a private school option, the same way they would with any international online program.

For families in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, or anywhere across the UAE, it means there’s no commute, no school bus fees, and no geographic restriction.

The American Curriculum Online

Legacy runs K–12 on a US curriculum delivered through Florida Virtual School (FLVS). It is one of the most established online curriculum providers in the US, which covers every grade from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

High school: 19 AP courses, College Board Level I approved (school code: 000114), dual enrollment through Arizona State University (ASU) and University of South Florida. Dual enrollment is the only partnership we offer – not a general claim about college credit access.

Middle school: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, plus electives including Computer Science Discoveries, Digital Art and Design, Journalism, and Spanish.

Elementary: Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Art, Technology, and Physical Education across grades K–5.

Three Learning Plans

Live Group Learning – live online classes, max 15 learners per class, 1:15 teacher ratio. School-day structure, real teacher interaction, no commute. Classes run at times compatible with Gulf Standard Time.

One-on-One Learning – fully customized curriculum and schedule. For learners who need intensive support or whose schedule doesn’t fit a group format.

Self-Paced Learning – no fixed school year, no synchronized schedule. Teachers grade work and give feedback. For families with non-standard routines, frequent travel, or relocation between countries.

Virtual clubs and extracurriculars are included in every plan – part of a holistic school experience that extends beyond academic coursework. Online tutoring is available at $25/hour across all plans for targeted academic support.

Diploma and College Readiness

Legacy graduates receive a fully accredited US high school diploma from a WASC-accredited institution. Accepted for university admissions, employment, and military enlistment globally. Not a GED equivalent.

Recent graduates have enrolled at Penn State, the University of New Haven ($30K merit scholarship), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University ($5K scholarship), and the University of Maryland. See the full university acceptance list →

Three graduation tracks: Standard Diploma (18 credits), Honors Diploma (24 credits), Accelerated Diploma (18 credits).

FAQ

Q: What makes Legacy Online School stand out among other online schools in Sharjah?

A: Three things physical schools can’t match: no campus fees, no fixed intake window, and a 1:15 class ratio. Ryan International runs 25:1. Most Sharjah campuses are similar. Legacy caps Live Group at 15 – teachers know students by name, not just by grade. WASC accreditation means the diploma travels when the family does.

Q: How does the admission process work at Legacy Online School in the UAE?

A: Apply on our website. Submit academic records for grade placement – if they’re not ready, they can follow after registration. The admissions team handles the rest. No intake window. No waiting for September. Account ready within 48 hours. There’s also a free trial lesson before any commitment, which most families find useful.

Q: What online classes and curriculum does this virtual school offer?

A: US curriculum, K–12. The full breakdown – subjects by grade level, AP course list, dual enrollment details — is in the main sections above. Short version: elementary through high school in one continuous program, 19 AP courses at high school level, College Board affiliated. No British curriculum, no IGCSE.

Q: How does distance learning at Legacy Online School compare to traditional schools in Sharjah?

A: Physical schools offer a campus, a community, and local SPEA accreditation. Legacy offers none of that. Different product entirely. What it does offer: rolling enrollment, 1:15 class size, WASC-accredited diploma, no commute, and continuity if the family relocates. Families who move between emirates or countries every few years – Legacy doesn’t reset when they do.

Q: What support and guidance does Legacy provide to students pursuing homeschooling?

A: Worth clarifying first: Legacy isn’t a virtual homeschooling platform. Homeschooling in the UAE means the parent teaches. At Legacy, qualified teachers handle instruction, the school issues official transcripts, and the diploma is institutional. What parents get is access to progress tracking, regular teacher communication, and guidance on structuring the school day. How much daily involvement is needed depends on the plan – Live Group runs itself more than Self-Paced does.

Q: Is Legacy Online School accredited and does it offer IGCSE qualifications?

A: WASC-accredited – full details on accreditation and the diploma are covered above. The short answer: a US high school diploma, three graduation tracks, accepted for university admissions, employment, and military enlistment. Not a GED, not an IGCSE, not a local credential. For the university acceptance list, see the link in the Diploma section.

Q: What technology does this online school use?

A: Live video classes, a learning management system for coursework and assignments, progress tracking for students and parents, direct teacher messaging. Live Group runs on Gulf Standard Time. Self-Paced has no schedule requirement – log in when the day allows. Works on any device. The platform handles the logistics. Teachers handle the learning.

Q: How does Legacy Online School serve students in Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi?

A: Same terms, regardless of emirate. Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah – no geographic restriction, no emirate-specific process. Live Group classes are scheduled for Gulf Standard Time. Self-Paced has no location requirement at all. Families that move between emirates mid-year stay enrolled in the same school. Nothing resets.
