CUSTOMER AGREEMENT FOR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
PARTIES
This Customer Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legally binding contract entered into by and between LEGACY SCHOOL LIMITED, a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Florida, with its principal place of business at Unit 2A, 17/F, Glenealy Tower, No.1 Glenealy, Central, Hong Kong S.A.R, hereinafter referred to as the “Company,” and any individual or entity using the Company’s website, as well as any other services provided by the Company, collectively referred to as the “Services,” hereinafter referred to as the “Customer.”
By accessing and utilizing the Company’s website and its Services, the Customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. The Company and the Customer shall collectively be referred to as the “Parties” throughout this Agreement.
This Agreement has been updated to Version 2.0 (International Edition) to reflect Legacy Online School’s expansion into the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and Portugal. Country-specific provisions applicable to clients in those markets are set out in Section 27 (Regional Provisions) of this Agreement. In the event of any conflict between Sections 1–26 and Section 27, the applicable Regional Provision shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
1. Products and Services
1.1 Purchase of Products
The Customer agrees to purchase the educational products for the specified classes as outlined in the order form or invoice provided by the Company. The terms of the educational purchase shall encompass details such as the quantity for a duration of one year, the agreed-upon price, and the method of online delivery. The specifics of the purchase, including any additional conditions or requirements, shall be clearly articulated in writing to ensure a comprehensive understanding between both parties.
1.2 Provision of Services
The Customer acknowledges their commitment to receiving the services of online education as outlined in the order form or agreement provided by the Company. The scope of services shall encompass the educational curriculum, activities, and resources essential to fostering an effective learning experience. The duration of service provision, along with any associated pricing structure, shall be meticulously outlined in the order form or invoice provided by the Company.
The availability and legal status of specific programmes may vary by country of residence. Clients in the Netherlands and Germany acknowledge that Legacy Online School’s services are offered as supplementary education alongside a recognised school. Clients in Spain are advised that the legal status of online-only education as a substitute for compulsory school attendance varies by Autonomous Community. Full details are set out in Section 27.
2. Payment
2.1 Payment Terms
The Customer agrees to fulfill their financial obligations by making timely payments for the acquired products and services and adhering to the payment terms specified in the order form, invoice, or agreement. The payment terms shall provide clarity on due dates, payment methods, and any applicable penalties for non-compliance.
All prices are stated in USD. The applicable tax treatment (VAT/IVA/BTW/MwSt) will be stated on the invoice for clients in the UAE, Qatar, and EU Member States. Legacy Online School will specify the VAT/tax status on invoices based on the client’s billing address and applicable local law. Any change to pricing will be communicated with not less than 30 calendar days’ written notice to enrolled clients. Unilateral changes to price without notice are void under UAE Consumer Protection Law (Art. 34, Cabinet Resolution No. 66/2023) and EU consumer protection law.
3. Terms of Use and Privacy
3.1 Terms of Use
The Customer agrees to adhere to the Company’s terms of use, including any applicable guidelines for product usage or service utilization. The Customer further acknowledges and agrees to abide by the provisions of the Student/Family Handbook, which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and made an integral part of this Agreement.
3.2 Privacy Policy
The Customer acknowledges that their personal and payment information will be collected and used in accordance with the Company’s privacy policy. The Company is committed to safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of all customer information and data.
For clients in the United Arab Emirates: personal data is processed in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45/2021 on Personal Data Protection (PDPL). For clients in the UAE under the age of 18: all processing of personal data is conducted on behalf of, and with the consent of, the parent or legal guardian, who executes this Agreement. For children under the age of 13 in the UAE, the enhanced protections of UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 26/2025 on Child Digital Safety (CDS Law) apply.
For clients in Qatar: personal data is processed in accordance with Qatar Personal Data Privacy Protection Law No. 13 of 2016 (PDPPL). Data of students under 18 is classified as ‘Personal Data of Special Nature’ under Qatar PDPPL and requires explicit guardian consent.
For clients in the European Union (Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal): personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable national implementing legislation. The applicable age of digital consent varies by country: Portugal 13 years (Lei 58/2019); Spain 14 years (LOPDGDD); Netherlands 16 years (UAVG); Germany 16 years (BDSG). For students below the applicable threshold, verifiable parental consent is required at enrolment. Personal data is transferred to US-based servers pursuant to Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. Legacy Online School’s EU Representative appointed pursuant to Article 27 GDPR is: [INSERT EU REPRESENTATIVE NAME, ADDRESS, EMAIL].
4. Data Breach Response
In the unfortunate event of a data breach, both the Customer and the Company have specific responsibilities as outlined below:
4.1 Company Responsibilities
The Company shall: (a) promptly notify the Customer in writing of any data breach; (b) conduct a thorough investigation; (c) maintain open and transparent communication throughout the breach response; (d) take immediate steps to remediate the breach.
For clients in the EU (Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal): the Company will notify the competent national data protection authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, in accordance with GDPR Article 33. For clients in Qatar: the Company will notify the National Data Privacy Office (NDPO) in accordance with Qatar PDPPL. For clients in the UAE: the Company will notify the UAE Data Office in accordance with UAE PDPL and applicable guidance.
4.2 Customer Responsibilities
The Customer shall cooperate with the Company, promptly notify the Company of any unauthorized access, review all communications regarding a data breach, and maintain the security of their account credentials.
5. Limitations of Liability
5.1 Warranty
The Company provides no warranty, express or implied, for products or services beyond those specifically stated in writing.
5.2 Limitation of Liability
The Company’s liability is limited by the amount of the tuition fee. In no event shall the Company be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising out of the use or inability to use the products or services.
Nothing in this Section 5.2 limits the Company’s liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable mandatory law in the client’s country of residence, including UAE Federal Law No. 15/2020 on Consumer Protection, Qatar Consumer Protection Law No. 8/2008, or applicable EU consumer protection directives.
6. Non-Participation
The Company recognizes that students who enroll in educational programs may occasionally face circumstances that prevent their active participation.
6.1 Expectation of Active Participation
Upon enrollment, it is expected that students will actively engage in the learning process, including attending classes, completing assignments, and participating in discussions and assessments.
6.2 Communication of Non-Participation
In the event that a student is unable to participate, it is the responsibility of the student or their parent/guardian to communicate this to the Company as soon as possible.
6.3 Temporary Absence
In cases of temporary non-participation, the student or parent/guardian should inform the Company of the expected duration and reason. The Company will work with the student to provide support and make reasonable accommodations.
6.4 Extended Non-Participation
If a student anticipates an extended period of non-participation, it is imperative that the Company be notified in advance. The Company may outline specific procedures and requirements for withdrawal or re-enrollment.
6.5 Financial Obligations
Non-participation does not release the student from their financial obligations as per the terms of this Agreement, unless otherwise specified in the Company’s Refund Policy.
6.6 Resumption of Participation
Students who temporarily cease participation may resume their educational program upon their return, subject to the Company’s policies and procedures for re-enrollment.
6.7 Termination for Prolonged Non-Participation
In cases of prolonged non-participation without prior communication, the Company reserves the right to terminate the student’s enrollment, with adherence to the termination procedures outlined in this Agreement.
7. Recordings
At Legacy Online School, we may record classes and learning sessions to provide a flexible and accessible learning experience.
7.1 Access to Recordings
Recordings may be made available to registered students, instructors, and authorized school administrators for the sole purpose of enhancing the educational experience.
7.2 Retention and Storage
Recordings will be stored on secure servers for a period of no longer than 12 months from the date of the respective class or learning session. The previous retention period of 3 months has been updated to 12 months to align with international best practice and to ensure academic continuity for enrolled students. After this period, recordings will be deleted unless there is a legitimate educational reason to retain them.
7.3 Purpose of Recordings
Recordings are primarily intended for academic purposes: (a) providing students with the opportunity to review class materials; (b) supporting students who may have missed a class; (c) assisting instructors in assessing and improving teaching methods; (d) supporting school quality assurance.
7.4 Use of Recordings
Recordings may not be used, shared, or distributed for any purpose other than those outlined above without the explicit written consent of Legacy Online School.
7.5 Privacy and Consent
By participating in classes and learning sessions, you consent to the recording of these sessions as described in this Agreement. Legacy Online School is committed to safeguarding your privacy, and recordings will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
For clients in Qatar: consent to recording is provided in accordance with Qatar Law No. 11/2025 (amendment to the Cybercrime Law, Article 8-bis), which applies to the recording and distribution of video images. The parent or guardian’s execution of this Agreement constitutes explicit consent for the purposes of that provision. Recordings will not be published, shared, or distributed outside the educational context without separate written consent.
For clients in the UAE: consent is given in accordance with UAE PDPL and the CDS Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 26/2025). Recordings containing data of students under 13 are subject to the enhanced protection regime under CDS Law.
For EU clients (Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal): the processing of personal data in recordings is conducted on the legal basis of contract performance (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) for students aged at or above the applicable national digital consent age, and explicit parental consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a)) for younger students. Recordings are transferred to US-based servers pursuant to Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Parental Supervision
8.1 For Students Under a Specified Age
For students under the age of 10, parental or guardian supervision during online classes is required.
For clients in the UAE: all students under the age of 18 must be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian with full authority to enter into binding agreements on behalf of the minor, in accordance with UAE Personal Status Law (Federal Law No. 28/2005). Legacy Online School reserves the right to request proof of guardianship at any time. Students aged 18 to 21 in the UAE have limited legal capacity, and parental signature is strongly recommended.
8.2 Online Safety
Parents and guardians are responsible for educating their children about online safety, appropriate behavior, and the responsible use of technology.
8.3–8.5 Technical Support, Communication, Privacy and Security
Parents or guardians should be prepared to provide technical support, maintain open communication with school personnel, and ensure that their child’s personal information and login credentials are kept secure.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate the products or services in accordance with the terms set forth in the order form, invoice, or agreement. The party seeking termination shall provide written notice to the other party.
9.1 Termination Consequences
In the event of termination: (a) outstanding tuition fees become immediately due; (b) any applicable refunds will be processed in accordance with Section 23; (c) access to the online platform and educational resources will be revoked; (d) academic records may be restricted or archived subject to Legacy Online School’s policies.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Any original work created by students as part of the educational program shall be considered the intellectual property of the school. Students grant the school an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use such content solely for educational and promotional purposes.
10.2 Instructors retain their intellectual property rights to educational materials they create and grant the school an equivalent licence.
11. Content Accuracy
11.1 The Company delivers educational content using third-party sources and does not guarantee the accuracy, relevance, or quality of content found on external websites or resources. Students are encouraged to independently evaluate external content.
12. Third-Party Platforms
The Company may utilize third-party services to support educational delivery. In the event of a disruption, the Company will make reasonable efforts to address the issue. The Company’s liability in respect of third-party service failures is limited to facilitating communication with the relevant provider.
13. Accessibility and Special Needs
The Company strives to offer accessible educational content. Legacy Online School will work collaboratively with students, parents/guardians, and relevant specialists to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with documented special educational needs.
14. Health and Safety
Students participating in physical education (PE) classes are responsible for consulting a healthcare provider if they have pre-existing medical conditions. Students are expected to adhere to the dress code for PE classes.
15. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States of America.
For clients residing in the European Union (Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal): these Terms are subject to applicable EU consumer protection law and applicable national mandatory law. Nothing in this clause affects the consumer rights available to EU clients under mandatory EU or national law, including the right to bring proceedings before the courts of the client’s country of residence.
For clients in the UAE: this Agreement is also subject to applicable UAE consumer protection law to the extent mandatory, including Federal Law No. 15/2020 on Consumer Protection as amended by Federal Decree-Law No. 5/2023, and Cabinet Resolution No. 66/2023.
For clients in Qatar: this Agreement is subject to applicable Qatar consumer protection law to the extent mandatory, including Qatar Consumer Protection Law No. 8/2008.
16. Dispute Resolution
In the event of any dispute, the following process shall apply:
16.1 Negotiation
The parties shall first attempt to resolve the dispute amicably through good-faith negotiations. Either party may initiate this process by written notice.
16.2 Mediation
If negotiations fail, the parties agree to engage a neutral third-party mediator.
16.3 Arbitration
If mediation fails, the parties agree to submit to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of a recognised arbitration institution in the State of Florida.
16.4 Additional Rights for International Clients
If mediation fails, EU clients may submit disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, regardless of any other dispute resolution mechanism agreed.
If mediation fails, UAE clients may contact the UAE Consumer Protection and Combating Commercial Fraud Department, Qatar clients may contact the Ministry of Commerce and Industry or the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre.
16.5 Language
All proceedings shall be conducted in English.
17. Objection
Parents or guardians may raise objections to any provision of this Agreement by submitting an email to [email protected]. The administration team shall review the objection and respond within a reasonable time frame.
18. Communication
For matters related to this Agreement, the Customer shall contact [email protected]. For refund requests: [email protected]. For privacy matters: [email protected].
For EU clients: communications regarding GDPR rights may also be addressed to the EU Representative appointed under GDPR Article 27: [INSERT EU REPRESENTATIVE CONTACT].
19. Social Media and Publicity
19.1 Customers are requested to obtain prior consent before sharing course materials or copyrighted content on public social media platforms.
19.2 By enrolling and accepting this Agreement, the Customer grants Legacy Online School the right to use testimonials and achievements for marketing and promotional purposes.
Personal data of students (including names, photos, and testimonials) will not be used for marketing purposes without separate explicit consent from the parent or guardian, and will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law, including UAE PDPL, Qatar PDPPL, and EU GDPR.
20. Technology Requirements
Students must have access to a compatible device (computer, laptop, or tablet), a supported operating system (Windows 10/11 or macOS Catalina and above), a current web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari), JavaScript and cookies enabled, and a webcam and microphone for live classes. Legacy Online School utilises the ‘Buzz’ online platform.
21. Technical Failures
21.1 The Company will promptly identify and resolve technical issues, communicate clearly with affected users, and may offer compensatory measures at its discretion.
21.2 Users are expected to promptly report technical issues, exercise patience during disruptions, and maintain backup plans.
22. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be held liable for any delay or failure due to causes beyond their reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, wars, strikes, or epidemics.
23. Refunds
The Company understands that circumstances may arise where a Customer may request a refund.
23.1 Enrollment Fee — Non-Refundable
The Enrollment Fee is non-refundable under all circumstances. This applies to all clients regardless of country of residence and is disclosed before contract conclusion.
23.2 Full Refund — 14-Day Window (All Markets)
In the event that students (or their parents/guardians) opt to withdraw from the school within the initial fourteen (14) calendar days following enrollment, Legacy Online School shall provide a complete refund of tuition fees for the first installment paid, provided that no live lesson has been attended. The Enrollment Fee remains non-refundable.
Legal basis: UAE Federal Law No. 15/2020 on Consumer Protection (Art. 34, Cabinet Resolution No. 66/2023); Qatar Consumer Protection Law No. 8/2008 (Art. 11). An absolute no-refund clause is not enforceable under UAE or Qatar consumer protection law.
23.3 EU Right of Withdrawal — 14 Days (Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal)
Clients residing in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, or Portugal have the right to withdraw from this Agreement within 14 calendar days of the date of contract conclusion, without giving any reason (herroepingsrecht / Widerrufsrecht / derecho de desistimiento / direito de arrependimento), in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) as implemented in the applicable national law.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the client must notify Legacy Online School in writing (email to [email protected]) before the 14-day period expires. Legacy Online School will reimburse all payments received within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal notification, using the same payment method as the original transaction.
If the client has explicitly requested that services begin during the withdrawal period and services have been partially delivered, Legacy Online School is entitled to charge a proportionate amount for services rendered up to the point of withdrawal.
For Germany: withdrawals must be in Textform (written form including email). The Muster-Widerrufsbelehrung (model withdrawal form) provided to German clients at enrolment satisfies the mandatory notification requirement under BGB §312d and EGBGB Art. 246a §1.
23.4 Refund for Failure to Deliver Services (All Markets)
A pro-rated refund for unused service is available at any time if Legacy Online School materially fails to deliver the contracted services, including but not limited to teacher absence, platform unavailability, or the programme not matching its description at enrolment.
23.5 Changes to Terms — 30 Days’ Notice (All Markets)
Any material change to these Terms, including pricing changes, will be communicated to enrolled clients with not less than 30 calendar days’ written notice by email. Clients who do not accept the amended Terms may terminate enrolment within the notice period and receive a pro-rated refund for unused services. Unilateral changes to essential terms without notice are void under UAE Consumer Protection Law (Art. 34, Cabinet Resolution No. 66/2023) and EU consumer protection law.
23.6 Requesting a Refund (All Markets)
To initiate a refund request, the parent or guardian must submit a written request to [email protected] including the invoice number and student name. Legacy Online School will process refund requests within 14 business days of receipt, using the same payment method as the original transaction.
23.7 Denial of Refund
The Company reserves the right to deny refund requests that do not meet the eligibility criteria outlined in this Agreement, including requests made after the applicable refund window. Any denial will be communicated in writing with reasons.
Nothing in Section 23 limits any rights available to consumers under applicable mandatory law in their country of residence.
24. Non-Discrimination Policy
Legacy Online School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, or age in its educational programs, activities, or admissions. This policy aligns with all applicable federal and state laws, including Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the ADA, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
25. Amendments
This Agreement may only be amended in writing and signed by both parties, except as provided in Section 23.5 (changes to Terms with 30 days’ notice).
26. Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior understandings, oral or written, pertaining to the subject matter herein.
27. Regional Provisions (International Markets)
This Section contains jurisdiction-specific provisions that supplement Sections 1–26. The provisions in this Section apply to clients residing in the relevant country. In the event of conflict, the applicable Regional Provision prevails.
27.1 United Arab Emirates
These Terms, insofar as they apply to UAE clients, are subject to applicable UAE law, including Federal Law No. 15/2020 on Consumer Protection as amended by Federal Decree-Law No. 5/2023 and Cabinet Resolution No. 66/2023.
Scope: The UAE citizens and permanent residents aged 6-16, Legacy Online School’s services are intended and offered as supplementary education alongside a recognised school. For clients on temporary visas, full K-12 programmes may be available. Clients are solely responsible for verifying compliance with applicable law in their Autonomous Community and visa conditions. Legacy Online School programmes are available to expatriate and resident families in the UAE.
Contractual capacity: All students under the age of 18 must be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian with full legal authority, in accordance with UAE Personal Status Law (Federal Law No. 28/2005).
Data and CDS Law: For students under 13, the enhanced protection requirements of Federal Decree-Law No. 26/2025 on Child Digital Safety apply.
Content: All content delivered to UAE students complies with UAE law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 34/2021 (Cybercrime Law). Content does not include material critical of Islam, material undermining the authority of UAE governmental entities, or LGBTQ+-related content.
VAT: Legacy Online School’s educational services may be subject to UAE VAT at 5% where applicable.
Disputes: Clients may contact the UAE Consumer Protection Department.
27.2 Qatar
These Terms, insofar as they apply to Qatar clients, are subject to applicable Qatar law, including Qatar Consumer Protection Law No. 8/2008 and Qatar PDPPL (Law No. 13/2016).
E-commerce: Legacy Online School’s services are offered subject to Ministerial Decision No. 25/2026 on e-commerce licensing. An Enrolment Confirmation Letter confirming WASC accreditation is provided upon request for MOEHE educational status registration (Maarif Portal) for visa and residency purposes.
Data: Data of students under 18 is classified as ‘Personal Data of Special Nature’ under Qatar PDPPL. The guardian has the right to request a full description of data processing. Breach notification to NDPO within 72 hours.
Disputes: Clients may contact MOCI or QICDRC.
27.3 Netherlands
These Terms, insofar as they apply to Netherlands clients, are subject to applicable EU and Dutch consumer protection law, including BW (Burgerlijk Wetboek) and EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.
Scope: Services are offered as supplementary education for students enrolled in a recognised Dutch or international school. Legacy Online School does not offer full-time K-12 education as a substitute for compulsory school attendance under Leerplichtwet 1969 for students aged 5-16 permanently residing in the Netherlands.
Right of withdrawal (herroepingsrecht): 14 calendar days from contract conclusion. Full details in Section 23.3.
Data: Age of digital consent in the Netherlands: 16 years (UAVG, Art. 8). Complaints: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
BTW: Services may qualify for BTW exemption under applicable Dutch tax law. BTW treatment will be stated on invoices.
Disputes: Clients may submit disputes to ACM or EU ODR.
27.4 Germany
These Terms, insofar as they apply to Germany clients, are subject to applicable EU and German consumer protection law, including BGB and EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.
Scope: Services are offered as supplementary education. Legacy Online School does not offer full-time K-12 education as a substitute for Schulpflicht for students aged 6-18 permanently residing in Germany. Parents are solely responsible for Schulpflicht compliance.
FernUSG: Distance learning courses offered to German clients that involve distance learning components are subject to the German Fernunterrichtsschutzgesetz (FernUSG). Where required, courses hold ZFU approval. ZFU approval number: [INSERT per course].
Right of withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht): 14 calendar days from contract conclusion. Must be exercised in Textform. Full details in Section 23.3.
Data: Age of digital consent in Germany: 16 years (BDSG §8). Complaints: BfDI (bfdi.bund.de) or relevant Landesbeauftragter für Datenschutz.
MwSt: Services may qualify for MwSt exemption under §4 Nr. 21 UStG where a Bundesland certificate or ZFU approval is held. MwSt treatment will be stated on invoices.
Disputes: Clients may submit disputes to the Verbraucherzentrale or EU ODR.
27.5 Spain
These Terms, insofar as they apply to Spain clients, are subject to applicable EU and Spanish consumer protection law, including TRLGDCU (Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007).
Scope: For Spanish citizens and permanent residents aged 6-16, Legacy Online School’s services are intended and offered as supplementary education alongside a recognised school. For clients on temporary visas, full K-12 programmes may be available. Clients are solely responsible for verifying compliance with applicable law in their Autonomous Community and visa conditions.
Right of withdrawal (derecho de desistimiento): 14 calendar days from contract conclusion. Full details in Section 23.3.
Data: Age of digital consent in Spain: 14 years (LOPDGDD, Art. 7.1). For clients under 14, explicit parental consent is required. Complaints: AEPD (aepd.es).
IVA: Services may qualify for IVA exemption under Art. 20.Uno.9 LIVA (Ley 37/1992). Canary Islands clients are subject to IGIC rather than IVA.
Disputes: Clients may contact OMIC or submit disputes via EU ODR.
27.6 Portugal
These Terms, insofar as they apply to Portugal clients, are subject to applicable EU and Portuguese consumer protection law, including Lei de Defesa do Consumidor (Lei n.º 24/96) and Decreto-Lei n.º 84/2021.
Scope: Legacy Online School offers all programmes to expat families in Portugal. Enrolment with Legacy Online School is intended to fulfil escolaridade obrigatória obligations through the international online school pathway. Legacy Online School provides upon request: (a) Enrolment Confirmation Letter; (b) Academic Transcript; (c) Verification Letter for Portuguese authorities, visa services, and institutions.
Right of withdrawal (direito de arrependimento): 14 calendar days from contract conclusion. Full details in Section 23.3.
Data: Age of digital consent in Portugal: 13 years (Lei 58/2019, Art. 16). For students under 13, explicit parental consent is required. Complaints: CNPD (cnpd.pt).
IVA: Services may qualify for IVA exemption under Art. 9(9) CIVA. IVA treatment will be stated on invoices. Madeira: 22%; Azores: 16% where applicable.
Disputes: Clients may contact DECO or submit disputes via EU ODR.
