WASC-accredited Legacy Online School awards a US High School Diploma, which is accepted for university admissions, job applications, and military enlistment globally. The curriculum is provided by Florida Virtual School (FLVS), a state-approved US provider. Two graduation pathways are available: a 24-credit Standard track for university-bound students, and an 18-credit Accelerated track for learners focused on career preparation or faster graduation.
Dubai has a lot of American curriculum schools – from Dunecrest American School and Universal American School to GEMS schools, Mirdif American School, Collegiate International School, American School of Dubai, and Bright Learners Private School. All of them are campus schools, which means you show up, have a seat, and pay for the building. We are the online alternative: a WASC-accredited private school delivering K-12 American curriculum to children in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and across the UAE with no residency requirement, no fixed location, and no waiting list.
The American curriculum is a structured K-12 framework built around a broad range of subjects. It assesses enrollees continuously through a GPA-based system from Kindergarten through Grade 12 – including grades 5 to 12 and grades 11 and 12. It follows the American Common Core curriculum and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and is delivered as curriculum in English across every grade.
Our curriculum is provided by Florida Virtual School (FLVS), also known as FlexPoint Education Cloud – a state-accredited program approved by the state of Florida. This is the same engaging curriculum framework used by thousands of children across the USA, updated regularly to meet current educational standards. The full course catalogue is at flvs.net/curriculum.
British curriculum schools, Indian schools, and International Baccalaureate programs take a different route entirely.
The school’s FLVS-powered curriculum covers every grade from KG1 through Grade 12:
Elementary School (Grades K–5) covers Language Arts, Mathematics, Science aligned with NGSS, Social Studies, Art, Technology, and STEM projects. From Kindergarten onward, younger learners build foundational skills in a structured online environment.
Middle School (Grades 6–8) includes Language Arts, Mathematics, Comprehensive Science, Social Studies, Digital Art and Design, Foreign Languages, Fitness, and Career Research.
High School (Grades 9–12) runs the full college-prep range: English Language Arts, Mathematics from Algebra through Calculus, Sciences covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, Social Studies spanning World History, US History, Economics, and Government, plus Foreign Languages, Fine Arts, and Physical Education.
On top of that, high schoolers can take AP courses audited by the College Board, Honor and Credit classes, and dual enrollment with Arizona State University for eligible full-time students. Learners aiming to show advanced STEM preparation can pursue a STEM Diploma Endorsement or Certificate on the way out.
Both tracks end in the same place: a US High School Diploma accepted for university admissions, job applications, military enlistment, and post-secondary vocational programs. Not a certificate of completion, not a GED equivalent – a complete qualification.
WASC is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) – two bodies that matter when universities evaluate whether a diploma counts. Our school is also listed by the Florida State Education Department and holds College Board Level I status, School Code 000114.
This one is designed for enrollees planning to apply to universities, and is aligned with Florida State Department of Education requirements.

Some international schools located in Dubai hold membership with the Council of International Schools (CIS) as an additional quality marker, including institutions like Al Nahda National School for Girls. Currently, Legacy is not a CIS member – its accreditation framework is built on WASC, College Board Level I status, and Florida State Education Department listing.

A: The US syllabus follows US educational models such as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and leads to an American high school diploma, emphasizing breadth and credit accumulation. The British one focuses on stages like GCSEs and A-Levels with subject specialization. When choosing between both, consider assessment style, university pathways, and whether the private school follows the state education criteria or offers additional international accreditation.
A: Our school provides a US national aligned online program that mirrors many elements of an American international school, including American education standards and credit-based progress toward an American high school diploma.
A: Yes — and the range is wide. Physical American schools in Dubai typically charge AED 35,000–90,000 per year ($9,500–$24,500), with fees varying by location, facilities, and accreditation. Most also have waiting lists of 3–6 months. Legacy Online School offers a fully accredited American K-12 education — WASC accredited, the same standard as leading US private schools — from $1 190 per year, with live teachers every school day in Gulf timezone. No waiting list, and your child can start within 48 hours. For families who want the American curriculum and diploma without the physical school price tag, Legacy is worth comparing directly.
A: Many US curriculum institutions follow US Common Core State Standards for core subjects and grant an American high school diploma, while also integrating the UAE education requirements such as Islamic studies and Arabic. Private schools located in Dubai often balance both.
A: Look for accreditation from US-based agencies and memberships with the Association of Schools and Colleges or other international accrediting bodies. Accreditation ensures quality and smoother university admissions pathways. It’s also worth checking whether a school follows the Ministry of Education requirements – this affects how transcripts are recognised locally and whether the school meets UAE compliance standards.
A: Legacy Online School is a US-accredited K-12 institution registered in Florida and operates as an internationally recognized American school. Our curriculum follows Florida Department of Education standards and is designed for internationally mobile families seeking a US diploma. Families residing in the UAE are responsible for ensuring compliance with any local education requirements applicable to their situation. We recommend consulting with local authorities regarding supplementary requirements if needed.
A: Most US syllabus schools accept transfer credits if the course content and credit hours align with their American education policies. We evaluate transcripts against CCSS and its credit requirements; learners from Dunecrest, Universal American School, Mirdif American School, or similar US curriculum school in Dubai can often transfer credits subject to review.
