TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PART A — UNIVERSAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A.1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to Legacy Online School. This website is owned and operated by Legacy Online School. By visiting our website and accessing the information, resources, services, products, and tools we provide, you understand and agree to accept and adhere to the following terms and conditions as stated in this policy (hereafter referred to as ‘User Agreement’). These Terms and Conditions apply to the entire contents of the website under the domain name www.legacyonlineschool.com (‘Website’) and to any correspondence by email between Legacy Online School (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’, ‘Legacy’) and you (‘you’, ‘your’, ‘user’). Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Website. By using any part of the Website, you indicate that you accept these Terms and Conditions and that you agree to abide by them.

By enrolling a student, you additionally confirm acceptance of the applicable Regional Provisions in Part B for your country or region of residence. In the event of any conflict between Part A and applicable Regional Provisions in Part B, the Regional Provisions shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.

A.2. Responsible Use and Conduct

By visiting our website and accessing the information, resources, services, products, and tools we provide for you, either directly or indirectly (hereafter referred to as ‘Resources’), you agree to use these Resources only for the purposes intended as permitted by (a) the terms of this User Agreement, and (b) applicable laws, regulations and generally accepted online practices or guidelines.

A.3. Scope of Educational Services

Legacy Online School provides K-12 part-time k-12 online education, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, College Preparation programmes, English Language Learning (ELL) programmes, and Summer School programmes, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and affiliated with the College Board.

The availability and legal status of specific programmes may vary by country. Clients are responsible for verifying that enrolment with Legacy Online School is consistent with applicable local education laws. Please refer to Part B for country-specific guidance.

A.4. Age, Parental Consent and Contractual Capacity

All students under the age of 18 require a parent or legal guardian to enter into this agreement on their behalf. By enrolling a student under the age of 18, the enrolling person represents and warrants that they are the student’s parent or legal guardian with full legal authority to enter into binding agreements for the minor.

Legacy Online School reserves the right to request proof of guardianship or parental authority at any time. Additional age-specific consent requirements apply in certain countries and are set out in Part B.

A.5 Delivery of Educational Materials

Upon the successful completion of payment, Legacy Online School commits to providing all necessary educational materials, resources, and access credentials within 48 hours. This includes course content, platform access, and relevant documents required for the student’s learning experience. If materials are not received within the stipulated time frame, users are encouraged to contact customer support for immediate assistance. Exceptions may apply in cases of technical issues or unforeseen circumstances, which will be promptly communicated to the user.

A.6 Live Lesson Recordings

Live lessons delivered through Legacy Online School’s learning platform are recorded for educational purposes, including: (a) enabling enrolled students to review missed or completed lessons; (b) quality assurance and teacher training; and (c) academic continuity.

By entering into this agreement, the parent or guardian provides explicit consent to: (a) the recording of live sessions; (b) storage of recordings for a maximum of 12 months from the date of recording; and (c) use of recordings exclusively for educational purposes as described. Recordings will not be shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

Students and parents may request deletion of a specific recording by contacting [email protected] , subject to the absence of a legitimate retention interest.

A.7 Modifications to Service and Prices — REVISED

We reserve the right to modify our services and pricing. For existing enrolled clients, we will provide not less than 15 (fifteen) calendar days’ written notice by email of any material change to pricing or service terms. Continued use of Legacy Online School’s services following the expiry of the notice period constitutes acceptance of the amended terms. If you do not accept the amended terms, you may terminate your enrolment within the notice period subject to the refund policy in clause A.9.

A.8 Accuracy of Billing and Account Information

You agree to provide current, complete and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made at our school. You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address and credit card numbers and expiration dates, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.

A.9 Refund and Cancellation Policy

Subject to applicable Regional Provisions in Part B, the following general refund policy applies:

  1. Full refund within 7 (seven) calendar days of enrolment payment, provided no more than one live lesson has been attended;
  2. Partial refund (pro-rated for unused portions of the term) where Legacy Online School materially fails to deliver the contracted services;
  3. No refund is available after the 7-day period has elapsed, except where Legacy Online School fails to deliver contracted services. The enrolment processing fee is non-refundable.

To request a refund, submit a written request to [email protected] . Legacy Online School will process refund requests within 14 business days.

Clients in the EU and UAE have additional rights under applicable consumer protection law as set out in Part B. An absolute no-refund clause is not enforceable under UAE Consumer Protection Law or EU consumer protection directives.

A.10 Content Standards and Curriculum

Legacy Online School delivers an American K-12 curriculum accredited by WASC and the College Board. Legacy Online School is committed to delivering educational content in a neutral, professional, and academically rigorous context. All educational content is reviewed to ensure compliance with applicable local laws in the countries in which Legacy Online School operates.

Specific content restrictions applicable to clients in the UAE and Qatar are set out in Part B.

A.11 Limitation of Liability

In conjunction with the Limitation of Warranties as explained above, you expressly understand and agree that any claim against us shall be limited to the amount you paid, if any, for use of products and/or services. Legacy Online School will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or exemplary loss or damages which may be incurred by you as a result of using our Resources, or as a result of any changes, data loss or corruption, cancellation, loss of access, or downtime to the full extent that applicable limitation of liability laws apply.

Nothing in these Terms limits Legacy Online School’s liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable mandatory law in the client’s country of residence.

A.12 Dispute Resolution 

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration conducted under the rules of JAMS (Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services). 

A.13 Intellectual Property / Copyrights / Trademarks

All content and materials available on Legacy Online School, including but not limited to text, graphics, website name, code, images, and logos are the intellectual property of Legacy Online School, and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. Any inappropriate use, including but not limited to the reproduction, distribution, display, or transmission of any content on this site is strictly prohibited unless specifically authorized by Legacy Online School.

A.14 Accessibility

Legacy Online School is committed to facilitating and improving the accessibility and usability of its Website. Legacy Online School strives to ensure that its Website services and content are accessible to persons with disabilities including users of screen reader technology. To accomplish this, we have engaged UsableNet Inc, a leading web accessibility consultant to help test, remediate and maintain our Website in-line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which also brings the Website into conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

A.15 Accuracy, Completeness and Timeliness of Information

We are not responsible if information made available on this Website is not accurate, complete or current. The material on this Website is provided for general information only and should not be relied upon or used as the sole basis for making decisions without consulting primary, more accurate, more complete or timely sources of information.

A.16 Third-Party Links

Certain content, products and services available via our Service may include materials from third-parties. Third-party links on this site may direct you to third-party websites that are not affiliated with us. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy and we do not warrant and will not have any liability or responsibility for any third-party materials or websites.

A.17 Prohibited Uses

You are prohibited from using the site or its content: (a) for any unlawful purpose; (b) to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts; (c) to violate any international, federal, provincial or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances; (d) to infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others; (e) to harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability; (f) to submit false or misleading information.

 

PART B — REGIONAL PROVISIONS

Part B contains jurisdiction-specific provisions that supplement Part A. If you are a client residing in one of the countries listed below, the relevant section of Part B applies to your agreement with Legacy Online School in addition to Part A. In the event of conflict, Part B prevails. These provisions have been added in connection with Legacy Online School’s international expansion in 2026.

B.1 United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The following provisions apply to clients residing in the UAE. These provisions are governed by UAE law including Federal Law No. 15/2020 on Consumer Protection (as amended), PDPL (Federal Decree-Law No. 45/2021), and CDS Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 26/2025).

B.1.1 Governing Law (UAE)

These Terms, insofar as they apply to UAE clients, are subject to applicable UAE law. Nothing limits any right available under UAE Federal Law No. 15/2020 on Consumer Protection. Disputes may be submitted to UAE courts or Consumer Protection Department (600522225). 

B.1.2 Parental Consent (UAE)

All students under the age of 18 are legally incapable of entering into binding agreements under UAE Personal Status Law (Federal Law No. 28/2005). Enrolment for students under 18 requires a parent or legal guardian to execute this agreement. Legacy Online School reserves the right to request proof of guardianship at any time.

B.1.3 Personal Data (UAE PDPL + CDS Law)

Personal data of UAE clients is processed in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45/2021 (PDPL). For students under 13, Legacy Online School applies the enhanced protections of Federal Decree-Law No. 26/2025 (CDS Law), including: verified parental consent; restricted data access; prohibition on commercial use of children’s data. Data is transferred to the USA pursuant to contractual safeguards consistent with PDPL requirements. 

B.1.4 Refund Policy (UAE)

In addition to the general refund policy in clause A.9, UAE clients are entitled to remedies available under UAE Consumer Protection Law where Legacy Online School fails to deliver contracted services. An absolute no-refund clause is not enforceable under UAE law.

B.1.5 Content Compliance (UAE)

All content delivered to UAE students complies with UAE law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 34/2021 (Cybercrime Law, Articles 42-43). Content does not include: material critical of Islam; material undermining the authority of UAE governmental entities; LBGTQ+-related content.

 

B.2 Qatar

The following provisions apply to clients residing in Qatar. These provisions are governed by Qatar law including Consumer Protection Law No. 8/2008, PDPPL (Law No. 13/2016), and Ministerial Decision No. 25/2026.

B.2.1. Scope of Services — Qatar

Legacy Online School will provide enrolled clients with an Enrolment Confirmation Letter confirming student name, year of study, and WASC accreditation status.

B.2.2. Personal Data (Qatar PDPPL)

Personal data of Qatar clients is processed in accordance with Qatar PDPPL (Law No. 13/2016). Data of students under 18 is processed as ‘Personal Data of Special Nature’ and requires explicit guardian consent. Guardian may request full description of data processing. Data is transferred to the USA under contractual safeguards consistent with PDPPL Art. 15. Complaints: NDPO / NCSA (ncsa.gov.qa). Breach notification to NDPO within 72 hours.

B.2.3. Video Recordings (Qatar — Law No. 11/2025)

Lesson recordings comply with Qatar Law No. 11/2025 (amendment to Cybercrime Law, Article 8-bis), which criminalises unauthorised publication or distribution of video/images of persons. By entering into this agreement, the parent or guardian provides explicit consent to recording as described in clause A.6.

 

B.3 Netherlands

The following provisions apply to clients residing in the Netherlands. Legacy Online School’s services are offered as supplementary education only (part time k-12 education, AP courses, College Prep, ELL, Summer School). 

B.3.1. Scope of Services — Netherlands

Services are offered as supplementary education to students enrolled in a recognised Dutch or international school. Legacy Online School does not offer full-time K-12 education as a replacement for compulsory school attendance under Leerplichtwet 1969 for students aged 5-16 permanently residing in the Netherlands. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for compliance with Leerplichtwet 1969.

B.3.2. Right of Withdrawal — 14 Days (Netherlands / EU)

In accordance with EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) as implemented in Dutch law (BW Art. 6:230o), Netherlands clients have the right to withdraw from this agreement within 14 calendar days of contract conclusion without giving any reason (herroepingsrecht). To exercise this right: [email protected] . Legacy Online School will reimburse all payments within 14 days of withdrawal notification. If services have partially commenced during the withdrawal period at the client’s request, a proportionate charge applies. If Legacy Online School fails to inform the client of this right, the withdrawal period extends to 12 months.

B.3.3. Personal Data (GDPR — Netherlands)

Personal data processed in accordance with GDPR (EU 2016/679) and Dutch GDPR Implementation Act (Uitvoeringswet AVG). Age of digital consent in the Netherlands: 16 years (UAVG Art. 8). For clients under 16: verified parental consent required. Data transferred to USA via Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). 

B.4 Germany

The following provisions apply to clients residing in Germany. Legacy Online School’s services are offered as supplementary education only (part-time k12, AP courses, College Prep, ELL, Summer School). 

B.4.1. Scope of Services — Germany (Schulpflicht)

Services are offered as supplementary education. Legacy Online School does not offer full-time K-12 education as a replacement for Schulpflicht for students aged 6-18 permanently residing in Germany. Parents are solely responsible for Schulpflicht compliance..

B.4.2. Widerrufsrecht — 14-Day Right of Withdrawal (Germany)

In accordance with BGB §312d and EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), German clients have the right to withdraw from this agreement within 14 calendar days of contract conclusion. To exercise: [email protected]

B.4.5. Personal Data (GDPR + BDSG — Germany)

Personal data processed in accordance with GDPR and German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). Age of digital consent in Germany: 16 years (BDSG §8). For clients under 16: verified parental consent required. Data transferred to USA via SCCs. 

B.5 Spain

The following provisions apply to clients residing in Spain. For Spanish citizens and permanent residents aged 6-16, Legacy Online School’s services are intended as supplementary education only. For clients on temporary visas, K-12 programmes may be available subject to visa conditions.

B.5.1. Scope of Services — Spain

For students who are Spanish citizens or permanent residents aged 6-16, Legacy Online School’s services are offered and intended exclusively as supplementary education alongside a recognised school, in view of the legal uncertainty surrounding online-only education under LOMLOE. Legacy Online School does not represent that enrolment satisfies Spanish compulsory education (educación obligatoria) requirements for permanent residents. Clients are solely responsible for verifying compliance with their Autonomous Community and visa conditions.

B.5.2. Derecho de Desistimiento — 14 Days (Spain)

In accordance with TRLGDCU Art. 102 and EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), Spanish clients have the right to withdraw from this agreement within 14 calendar days of contract conclusion (derecho de desistimiento). To exercise: [email protected] . Legacy Online School will reimburse all payments within 14 days. 

B.5.3. Personal Data (GDPR + LOPDGDD — Spain)

Personal data processed in accordance with GDPR and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD). Age of digital consent in Spain: 14 years (LOPDGDD Art. 7.1). For clients under 14: explicit parental consent required. For clients aged 14-17: client may consent, subject to parental objection rights. Data transferred to USA via SCCs. 

B.6 Portugal

The following provisions apply to clients residing in Portugal. The Legacy Online School offers full K-12 programmes, which are available to expat families through the international online school pathway.

B.6.1. Scope of Services and Educational Documentation (Portugal)

Legacy Online School offers all programmes to expat families residing in Portugal, as WASC accreditation allows enrolment to constitute compliance with Portugal’s escolaridade obrigatória through the international online school pathway. Legacy Online School will provide, upon request: (a) Enrolment Confirmation Letter; (b) Academic Transcript; (c) Verification Letter for use with Portuguese authorities, visa services, or institutions. Clients are responsible for verifying any specific visa or residency requirements regarding children’s education.

B.6.2. Direito de Arrependimento — 14 Days (Portugal)

In accordance with Decreto-Lei n.º 84/2021 Art. 10 and EU Consumer Rights Directive (2019/2161), Portuguese clients have the right to withdraw within 14 calendar days of contract conclusion (direito de arrependimento). B.6.3. Personal Data (GDPR + Lei 58/2019 — Portugal)

Personal data processed in accordance with GDPR and Portuguese Law No. 58/2019. Age of digital consent in Portugal: 13 years (Lei 58/2019, Art. 16) — the lowest threshold among Legacy Online School’s EU markets. For clients under 13: explicit parental consent required. Data transferred to USA via SCCs. Complaints: CNPD (cnpd.pt).
