Peter Crawford Valentino: The Visionary Behind Legacy Online School K-12 in Virginia

Embrace the world of Peter Crawford Valentino, the visionary behind Legacy Online School, and be inspired by a legacy that intertwines art, passion, and education.
In the bustling heart of Florida, drawing from a rich lineage of five generations of educators and propelled by his extensive experience in teaching, Peter Crawford Valentino made a monumental decision: to found the K12 Legacy Online School. A beacon of education, this institution stands as a testament to Peter's commitment to knowledge and his belief in the transformative power of learning.
Peter is a man of many talents — an accomplished actor, writer, director, producer, musician, and, notably, a teacher. His vast and varied journey, which spans from the vibrant streets of LA to the iconic skyline of New York and the glittering lights of Las Vegas, is a story of creative search, passion, dedication, and unyielding commitment to the arts.

From his early days as a lead singer and guitarist, captivating audiences in local LA venues, to his concert tour for the U.S. military that took him across the Middle East and Europe, Peter's musical journey was a sight to behold, earning him a special feature on MTV. His love for melodies seamlessly integrates into his films, creating soundtracks that are both enchanting and unforgettable.

The allure of theater was another calling Peter could not resist. Diverse roles in stage plays, live improv comedy, television, and film only deepened his love for the performing arts. This love took him to New York City, where he honed his skills as an improv actor, and later to Las Vegas, where he established the Neon Venus Art Theatre, and subsequently its sister theater in the Hollywood district.

Noteworthy films and projects like "Bobby and Tiffany", "Davidson and Bradley", "Dead Dreamers", "Detective Charles Hanover", "The Falcon", "Ivan's Angels", and "Golden Blood", to name a few, grace his portfolio. Explore his detailed journey and list of achievements on IMDb, and for those looking to connect on a professional front, his LinkedIn profile awaits.

Your child needs an American diploma that colleges actually recognize. Legacy Online School is a WASC-accredited K–12 private high school serving Virginia families who want live instruction, AP courses, and a real US credential – without the $15,000 tuition tag most private online schools charge.

Virginia has private online options. Some charge triple what we do. Some have 30 pupils per class. Most use recorded lessons and call it “flexible online learning.” We run live classes with qualified teachers every school day, cap enrollment at 15 per class, and keep tuition at $2,500/year.

Private Online Schools in Virginia

K12 Private Academy operates nationally with Cognia accreditation. Class size averages 15–31 people. They offer flexibility and recorded course libraries, but live teacher interaction is limited to scheduled office hours and optional seminars. Tuition structure varies by grade and program.

Liberty University Online Academy serves grades 6–12 with a Christian education model. Self-paced format with biblical worldview integration. Strong option for faith-based families, but coursework is primarily asynchronous.

Accredited by Cognia, Score Academy Online focuses on grades 6–12 with SACS CASI. Classes capped at 6 children. Tuition runs approximately $15,000/year plus fees. Strong individualized support, smaller class size than most competitors.

George Washington University Online High School serves grades 8–12 from their Virginia campus. University-affiliated program with college prep focus. Higher price point typical of university-affiliated programs.

Most Virginia-serving private online schools fall into two camps: low-cost self-paced with minimal live interaction, or premium-priced with small classes and daily instruction. We’re the third option – live instruction at an affordable price.

K-12 Legacy Online School – WASC Accreditation and College Prep

We are fully accredited by WASC. Same credentialing body as top US private schools. Colleges see our diploma the same way they see Exeter or Andover – a fully accredited American high school transcript.

19 AP online courses. College Board Level I approved, school code 000114. Your child sits AP exams through us – no hunting for a local testing site. AP scores open doors at selective universities and cut college costs through credit transfer.

Dual enrollment through Arizona State University and University of South Florida. College credit before graduation. Verified partnership.

K-12 curriculum from Florida Virtual School. Same content used in hundreds of accredited US school programs. Proven, rigorous, aligned to college prep standards.

Recent graduates enrolled at Penn State, University of Maryland, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and University of New Haven with a $30,000 merit scholarship. Check the full list.

Three Learning Plans

Live Group Learning – daily live classes, 15 learners maximum, structured school day. For families who want routine and real-time teacher contact. Your child learns with the same small group, builds actual relationships with classmates and teachers.

One-on-One Learning – individual lessons, fully customized schedule and curriculum. For learners who need intensive support, have unique scheduling demands, or work significantly above or below grade level.

Self-Paced Learning – no fixed calendar, no synchronized schedule. Teachers grade work and give written feedback. Pupils learn at their own pace. For families whose lives don’t fit a traditional academic year.

All three plans lead to the same WASC-accredited diploma. Pick based on what your child needs – not what the school can deliver.

Diploma Options

Standard Diploma: 24 credits. University-ready, 2.0 GPA minimum.

Honors Diploma: 24 credits. For competitive university applications or scholarship candidacy.

Accelerated Diploma: 18 credits. Faster completion timeline for enrollees who need to graduate early.

All three are WASC-approved high school diplomas – fully recognized for university admission, employment, and military enlistment.

Is Legacy accredited in Virginia?
We're WASC-accredited – the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Our diploma is recognized by Virginia colleges, employers, and the US military.
Can my child play high school sports?
We don't offer athletics directly. Some Virginia school districts allow homeschool and private online students to participate in local school sports programs with superintendent approval. Check your local district policy.
What if we're currently homeschooling?
Enrolling at Legacy means your child becomes a student at an accredited private school – not homeschooled. We're the school of record. You're not the teacher. That simplifies record-keeping and transcript generation for college applications.
Does Legacy issue transfer credits?
Yes. We provide official transcripts recognized by US universities and most international institutions. Transfer students bring credits from previous schools; we evaluate and apply them toward Legacy graduation requirements.
How long does enrollment take?
48 hours from completed application to active account. Most families start the following Monday. No entrance exam, no GPA requirement, no waitlist.
Do you offer IEPs or special education services?
We accommodate many learning differences through our One-on-One plan and flexible pacing options. Students needing IEP support must be able to communicate verbally with teachers. Contact admissions to discuss specific needs.
Is the diploma valid if we move out of Virginia?
Our WASC accreditation is US-wide and internationally recognized. The diploma is valid whether you're in Virginia, another state, or overseas. That's the point.
