Non-Discrimination Policy of Legacy Online School

1.1 Policy statement

Legacy Online School is committed to an environment free from discrimination in education and in access to its educational services, programs, and activities. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law, in its educational programs and activities. This policy extends to admission to and employment by the school.

1.2 Applicability

This policy applies to all aspects of the school’s operations and programs, including admissions, educational programs and services, the assignment of students to classes, and school activities.

1.3 Reporting discrimination

Any individual who believes they have been subjected to discrimination is encouraged to report it promptly to a teacher, an administrator, or the school’s designated contact at [email protected]. All complaints are investigated promptly, and appropriate action is taken where the investigation indicates that a violation has occurred.

1.4 Confidentiality

To the extent possible, reports of discrimination are kept confidential. Information is disclosed only as necessary to complete the investigation, to take appropriate remedial action, or as required by law.

1.5 Retaliation

Retaliation against any individual who reports discrimination or cooperates with an investigation is strictly prohibited. Acts of retaliation are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal for employees and expulsion for students.

1.6 Enforcement

Any individual found to have violated this policy is subject to appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal for employees and expulsion for students.

1.7 Education and training

The school conducts regular training for students, faculty, and staff so that they understand this policy, the behavior it prohibits, the consequences of violating it, and the value of a diverse and inclusive educational environment.

1.8 Students with disabilities

A parentally placed private school student with a disability does not have an individual right to the special education and related services that would be available in a public school under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The school implements existing documented accommodations as described in the Student Support Services section.

1.9 Policy review

This policy is reviewed at least annually and updated as needed to remain effective and compliant with applicable law. Last reviewed: June 17, 2026.
