Diverse Educational Programs
There are 2 types of learning styles including group and self-pace. School offers Academic, АР and Extracurricular courses.

Georgia families looking at private online schools have options. Some are regional. Some are national chains serving students across multiple states. Not all of them deliver the same level of instruction, accreditation, or college preparation.

Legacy is a WASC-accredited private online school serving students in grades K-12. WASC accreditation is the same standard used by top brick-and-mortar private schools nationwide. We offer live instruction every school day, 19 AP courses, and three learning plans designed around how your child actually learns.

Private Online Schools in Georgia

Georgia learners have access to several private online high schools. Connections Academy operates in Georgia as a charter school model – free to families but still operating under Georgia Department of Education oversight. Georgia Cyber Academy functions similarly. Both serve thousands of pupils but maintain class sizes of 25-30 people per teacher.

Then there are national private online schools. Some charge $15,000-20,000 per year. Some offer recorded video instruction with occasional office hours. Some cap AP course offerings at 8-10 classes. A few maintain legitimate accreditation. Many don’t.

Legacy sits in a different category. Fully accredited by WASC. Maximum class size – 15 kids. Live instruction happens every school day for enrollees in our Live Group Learning plan. One-on-One Learning pairs your child with a private instructor. Self-Paced Learning gives children flexibility to move through coursework independently while teachers grade work and provide written feedback.

All three plans lead to the same diploma. All three include access to 19 AP courses and virtual clubs. You pick what works for your family.

High Schools: Digital Curriculum and College Prep

With the FLVS-based curriculum, your child earns a standard diploma with 24 credits, an accelerated diploma with 18 credits, or an honors diploma with 24 credits and advanced coursework.

We offer 19 AP courses. Not a selection of “popular” AP courses. All nineteen.

Our College Board school code is 000114. Your child’s AP scores transfer directly to college applications. The diploma travels because WASC accreditation is recognized nationwide.

Some private online schools in Georgia offer 6-8 AP courses. Some don’t offer any. AP access matters for college admissions. A strong AP transcript shows readiness for university-level work. Schools know the difference between a student who took AP Calculus BC and one who didn’t have access to it.

Georgia Online: Private School Comparison

Here’s what you’re comparing when you look at private online schools serving Georgia pupils:

Feature Other Private Online Schools Legacy Online School
Tuition $8,000-20,000/year typical Starting at $2,500/year
Class size 20-30 learners typical 15 learners maximum
Live instruction Varies (some recorded only) Daily live classes (Live Group plan)
AP courses 6-10 courses typical 19 AP courses
Accreditation Varies (many unaccredited) WASC-accredited
Enrollment speed 2-4 weeks typical 48 hours
Curriculum flexibility Usually one format Three learning plans

Price matters. So does accreditation. A school can charge $15,000 and still not hold WASC accreditation. That means colleges don’t recognize the transcript with the same weight. It means transfer credits might not move smoothly if your family relocates. It means your child is paying private school tuition without getting private school standards.

Legacy charges $2,500 per year for our Self-Paced plan. Live Group Learning starts higher but still runs thousands less than most accredited private schools. You’re getting WASC accreditation, live teachers, and AP courses that prepare your child for competitive college admissions.

K-12 Online Education: Three Learning Plans

Live Group Learning follows a school-day structure. Classes run Monday through Friday with live instruction from qualified teachers. Maximum 15 people per class. Your child attends in real time, participates in discussions, asks questions, and gets immediate feedback. This plan works for families who want routine and direct teacher interaction.

One-on-One Learning pairs your child with a private instructor. Fully customizable curriculum. Fully personalized schedule. This plan works for those who need intensive support, have unique learning needs, or operate on a schedule that doesn’t fit traditional school hours.

Self-Paced Learning gives independent learning environment. No fixed school year. No synchronized schedule. Your child moves through coursework at their own speed. Teachers grade assignments and provide written feedback. This plan works for those who need maximum flexibility – competitive athletes, performing artists, families who travel frequently, or learners who simply work better without real-time pressure.

All three plans lead to the same WASC-accredited diploma. All three give access to the same 19 AP courses. Choosing Self-Paced doesn’t mean “lesser”. You’re picking the format that fits your child’s learning style.

Diploma Recognition and College Readiness

Your child graduates with a high school diploma from a WASC-accredited institution. Not a completion certificate. Not a GED equivalent. An actual diploma that colleges, employers, and military recruiters recognize nationwide.

Credits transfer. If your family moves mid-year, your child doesn’t lose progress. If they decide to switch to a local school, transcripts transfer cleanly. WASC accreditation guarantees that.

Dual enrollment partnerships give learners access to college credit while finishing high school. We partner with Arizona State University and University of South Florida. Not a local community college. ASU and USF. Your child takes university courses, earns college credit, and shaves time off their undergraduate degree.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, students from WASC-accredited schools have college acceptance rates comparable to traditional private schools. Georgia students preparing for college need AP scores and a strong GPA. They need teachers who know the material and know how to teach it. They need a school that doesn’t treat online education like a secondary option. Legacy delivers that.

Enrollment for Georgia Students

You don’t need Georgia residency to enroll. No district approval. No transfer paperwork. Submit an application online. We process it within 48 hours. Your child starts school.

Students in grades K-8 take a placement test to ensure they start at the right level. High schoolers provide transcripts from previous schools. We build a graduation plan based on credits already earned. As long as your child completes at least 25% of required coursework with us, they earn a Legacy diploma.

Payment works three ways: monthly, semester, or annual. Annual payment gets you 20% off. Semester payment gets you 10% off. Monthly is standard rate. No equipment fees. No textbook rentals. No mandatory fundraising. You pay tuition. We provide education.

Why Georgia Families Choose Legacy

One family in Atlanta was paying $12,000 per year at another private online school. Their daughter was getting recorded lectures and one live session per week. They wanted more. She transferred to Legacy mid-year. Now she’s taking live classes every day, enrolled in AP Chemistry and AP US History, and paying less than half what they were paying before.

Another family near Savannah needed flexibility for their son’s competitive baseball schedule. He travels March through July for tournaments. Self-Paced Learning let him keep up with coursework on the road. He’s on track to graduate with a full 24-credit diploma and college acceptance letters already coming in.

A third family moved from Georgia to South Carolina for work. Their daughter didn’t miss a day of school. She stayed enrolled at Legacy. Same teachers. Same curriculum. Same diploma path. WASC accreditation meant her credits transferred seamlessly when the family moved again six months later.

Not every Georgia student needs private online school. Some families are happy with their local options. But if you’re comparing private online schools and trying to figure out which one delivers actual education at a fair price – Legacy does the work.

Want to to give it a shot? Book a free trial class for your child. One parent meeting. No pressure. See how live instruction works and decide from there.

Embrace the world of Peter Crawford Valentino, the visionary behind Legacy Online School, and be inspired by a legacy that intertwines art, passion, and education.
In the bustling heart of Florida, drawing from a rich lineage of five generations of educators and propelled by his extensive experience in teaching, Peter Crawford Valentino made a monumental decision: to found the K12 Legacy Online School. A beacon of education, this institution stands as a testament to Peter's commitment to knowledge and his belief in the transformative power of learning.
Peter is a man of many talents — an accomplished actor, writer, director, producer, musician, and, notably, a teacher. His vast and varied journey, which spans from the vibrant streets of LA to the iconic skyline of New York and the glittering lights of Las Vegas, is a story of creative search, passion, dedication, and unyielding commitment to the arts.

From his early days as a lead singer and guitarist, captivating audiences in local LA venues, to his concert tour for the U.S. military that took him across the Middle East and Europe, Peter's musical journey was a sight to behold, earning him a special feature on MTV. His love for melodies seamlessly integrates into his films, creating soundtracks that are both enchanting and unforgettable.

The allure of theater was another calling Peter could not resist. Diverse roles in stage plays, live improv comedy, television, and film only deepened his love for the performing arts. This love took him to New York City, where he honed his skills as an improv actor, and later to Las Vegas, where he established the Neon Venus Art Theatre, and subsequently its sister theater in the Hollywood district.

Noteworthy films and projects like "Bobby and Tiffany", "Davidson and Bradley", "Dead Dreamers", "Detective Charles Hanover", "The Falcon", "Ivan's Angels", and "Golden Blood", to name a few, grace his portfolio. Explore his detailed journey and list of achievements on IMDb, and for those looking to connect on a professional front, his LinkedIn profile awaits.

What makes Legacy different from other private online schools in Georgia?
Three things. WASC accreditation - same standard as top brick-and-mortar private schools nationwide. Maximum class size of 15 versus 20-30 at most competitors. And 19 AP courses instead of the 6-10 typical range. You're getting accredited college prep at $2,500-5,000 per year instead of $8,000-20,000. Not a budget version. Full program, lower price.
Is an online high school diploma recognized the same as a traditional private school diploma in Georgia?
Yes, if the school is properly accredited. Legacy holds WASC accreditation - the same standard used by top private schools across the country. Your child graduates with an actual diploma, not a completion certificate. Credits transfer cleanly if your family moves or your child switches schools. Accreditation is what makes the diploma portable.
How do AP courses work at an online school compared to traditional high schools?
Same structure. Same College Board standards. Our teachers are qualified and trained to AP specifications. Your child takes the course, prepares for the exam, and registers through College Board using our school code 000114. AP scores transfer directly to college applications just like they would from any Georgia private school. The difference is access - we offer all 19 AP courses instead of limiting students to whatever happens to fit the schedule that year.
Can Georgia students enroll in Legacy mid-year if they're switching from another school?
Yes. Rolling admission means you can enroll anytime. We process applications within 48 hours. Your child provides transcripts from their previous school. We build a graduation plan based on credits already earned. They start immediately - no waiting for the next semester. One Atlanta family transferred their daughter mid-year after realizing her previous online school was mostly recorded lectures. She didn't lose any progress.
What happens if our family moves out of Georgia while our child is enrolled?
Nothing changes. Your child stays enrolled at Legacy. Same teachers. Same curriculum. Same graduation timeline. WASC accreditation isn't tied to Georgia residency - the diploma is recognized nationwide. One family moved from Georgia to South Carolina for work. Their daughter stayed with us through the move and graduated on schedule. No transcript transfers. No credit loss. No interruption.
How much teacher interaction do students actually get in online classes?
Depends on the learning plan you choose. Live Group Learning means daily instruction Monday through Friday with qualified teachers. Maximum 15 pupils per class. Your child attends in real time, asks questions, participates in discussions. One-on-One Learning is private instruction - fully customizable. Self-Paced Learning is independent work with teacher feedback on every assignment. You're picking the format that matches how your child learns.
Do online schools in Georgia offer dual enrollment or college credit opportunities?
Some do. We partner with ASU and USF for dual enrollment. Your child takes actual university courses, earns college credit, and graduates high school with credits already on a college transcript. That's different from community college partnerships. ASU and USF credits transfer more broadly when your child applies to universities. Combined with AP courses, students can enter college with a semester or more of credit already completed.
